This course is for HERS Raters and will cover the topics necessary to certify homes under the EPA's ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction Homes program. This training presents the technical content of the Rater Design Review Checklist and Rater Field Checklist and takes the trainee through each section of the checklist, explaining how to verify each requirement and interpret any corresponding footnotes. Upon completing the training, raters will have a solid understanding of how to verify and complete the checklists they are responsible for in the ENERGY STAR certification process.

Per the ENERGY STAR program requirements, HERS Raters must successfully complete an EPA-recognized training class for the ENERGY STAR program they will use to certify homes:

Note, if certifying homes under the ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction program, the EPA requires HERS Raters to take both Single-Family and Multifamily ENERGY STAR training courses.

After completing course, HERS Raters will be able to submit verification and testing data to CHEERS for project certification under the ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction program.
